Collect wedding photos from guests with a QR code
Create an upload link for the wedding, turn it into a QR code and put the code on the tables. Guests scan it with their phone camera and upload their photos straight in the browser, no app needed, and every photo ends up in the same place.
1. Create one place for the photos
Pick a service where guests can upload without an account, so the threshold is as low as possible. What matters is how many guests actually do it, not how many features the service has.
2. Turn the link into a QR code
Guests scan the code with the phone camera and it opens the upload page in the browser. Nobody has to download an app, which is a big advantage because few people want to install something in the middle of a party.
3. Put the QR code where guests will see it
- On every table, in a small frame or on the place card
- In the programme or the menu
- On a sign at the entrance and by the bar
- In the invitation, so guests know they can upload even before the party
4. Ask for the photos during the evening
Let the toastmaster mention the QR code in the welcome speech and remind guests a little later. Many people take photos but forget to share them afterwards, so it is easiest to ask them right away.
5. Show the photos on a screen during the party
Photos that appear on a screen during the evening make more guests upload. With Myo's live screen, uploaded photos are shown while the party is going on.
6. Think about privacy
Wedding photos are private. In Myo the photos are never public: only the host and guests who are logged in to the wedding can see them, and the photos stay in Myo. Myo is in an early pilot and only lets in selected hosts for now.
